Upper Deck knew what they were doing when the released their first-ever baseball card set in 1989. Card number one set the tone by featuring the future baseball Hall of Famer, Ken Griffey Jr. The Kid was just 19 when he made his MLB debut in 1989. When you were ripping those foil packs Upper Deck used instead of the wax Topps gave us, it was the Griffey you chased. Not much has changed other than our hairlines; the '89 UD Griffey is still coveted!
Charles (nicknamed python!) got into a pack of 1989 Upper Deck on Monte's show (Sundays 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM). Python is now the proud owner of THE card. Here is a video of the pack break:
