Big hit alert! We just pulled a 1/1 cut auto of a Baseball Hall of Famer from 2023 Topps Five Star baseball.
While breaking 2023 Topps Five Star baseball, the hands have been hot. Last week, we pulled a Mike Trout auto. Now, one of the rare 1/1 cut autos have been pulled in our card breaks!
2023 Topps Five Star comes with two cards in the box, and each are autographed. If you love hits, Five Star delivers. S10 and Rob Bob ripped a box for Jason. The first card was a nice on-card auto of Braves star and 2022 Rookie-of-the-Year, Michael Harris. The next card caught our attention! Check out the pull in the video:
1/1 Cut Auto! George Sisler Played from 1915 to 1930. Sisler's career average is .340, tied for one of the highest averages of all-time! For comparison, Ted Williams' career average is .344, and Babe Ruth hit .342. Sisler won the 1922 MVP on his way to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939. Sisler signed what appears to be an index card in a strong, blue ink, going diagonally across the card. Congrats on the pull, Jason!
The last time Sisler took the field was in 1930 for the Boston Braves - 94 years ago. Picture how much the world has changed since George Sisler played - players didn't wear batting helmets (not mandatory until 1971), there were no night games (first played on May 24th, 1935), and with Prohibition you couldn't have a beer at the baseball game!
